Things NOT to ask me about Gryphon!

Let's face it: everyone who knows Gryphon, LOVES him! He is truly one of the greatest dogs I've ever met, and I consider myself BEYOND lucky to have found him. He is my best friend, and probably the closest thing to a kiddo I will ever have. Of course, this means I'm over-sensitive of remarks from strangers. They probably think, "it's just a dog, what the hey?" and ask, but to me it's the same as if I went up to a proud mama and said "Woooo, ugly baby! Were you on the sauce a lot while you were pregnant?"

First off, let's look at lovely Gryphy...

Irresistible, says I!

Is that a PIT BULL?!? ask strangers! (I don't mind the question from fellow bully breed admirers, it's the old ladies clutching their grandkids close, or the people who cross the street when they see him coming and shout the question at me that I hate)

What else? Let's see...
"Why is your dog wearing a muzzle?

Awk! It's NOT a muzzle! It's called a Gentle Leader, and he wears it because he pulls like a moose when he walks and it's the only thing that slows him down. I've ALWAYS wanted to reply: "Oh, no. It's not a muzzle, he can still bite you if he wants to," when I get that question.

Is he vicious?
Oh my yes! A real key-ler!

Is he a cripple?

This question always make me want to clutch my head and HOWL! Rude beyond rude! Gryphon has had arthritis in his back right leg for a few years, and has also had surgery on that leg for a torn cruiciate ligament. Before the surgery, he limped quite badly when he got tired, which was heartbreaking to see. Even worse when some git would ask if was crippled or simply; "What's WRONG with him?"

Oh! He's a Golden Oldie, eh?

Thanks. Thanks a lot.

This last question only occurred ONCE, and I was furious at the time, but it's kind of funny now. We were at the park, and it was crowded with kids and parents and picnickers. This kid yells across the field (I shit you not) "IS YOUR DOG PREGNANT?????" OMG! That kid is lucky there was a crowd, I was ready to go in swinging! (j/k...sorta..)
