Bruin and Kira, sittin' in a tree!

Today Bruin's little girlfriend is hanging out here for a couple hours. As I'm typing, I can hear lots of scrabbling and sneezing and marfing as they wrestle on the couch behind me. "Puppy love" is such an apt term; from the day they met, as 3 month olds, Kira and Bruin have been best buddies and play every moment they are together. We'd hoped that Gryphon and Bruin would be best friends, but alas, Gryphon tolerates Bruin, and Bruin and Kira dote on each other and ignore everyone else around them.

Here is the night they met, at Gryphon's 7th birthday party...

Perhaps "play" is putting it mildly! They were like little puppy gladiators, trying to beat the crap out of each other, but it was adorable. Both were so tiny and uncoordinated and neither had any teeth worth speaking of. We'd pull them apart, thinking they were, you know, really fighting fighting, but no, Kira and Bruin just have a physical relationship. They love to wrestle.

Here they are a few months later at Bruce Pit...

A little more grown up, but still little hellions when it comes to playtime. The rough play is the same, but it looks more dangerous the bigger they get. But no one gets hurt and they race down the halls to see each other every day (we live in the same apartment building).

Everyone is passed out on the floor right now, so I'll post some pictures of our boring afternoon in the apartment (it's waaaay too hot to venture outdoors for more than a pee).

Lots going on in this one. Bruin eats Kira's elbow! Gryphon does his Ugly Face! The cat watches disinterestedly!
